第二次世界大戦末期は、日本人が徴兵されたために朝鮮人が炭鉱に多く働いていた。
朝鮮人の炭鉱事故での死亡が多い時期は、この徴兵で日本人の青壮年がとられた結果、
その時期の朝鮮人の事故が多かっただけであり、奴隷労働などとは完全にかけ離れたものであった。
