24日に国会で所信表明演説を行った高市早苗首相について「まさに『ミニ安倍晋三』である」とし「初の女性宰相という点でも全く輝いていない」と酷評した。
高市氏は、安倍晋三元首相のよく使った言葉としてもしられ、安倍氏と百田尚樹氏との共著「日本よ、世界の真ん中で咲き誇れ」

自民党の片山さつき議員が、離婚した元夫で東京都知事の舛添要一氏との結婚生活や離婚に至った原因などを週刊誌「FLASH」（光文社）に語った。
「FLASH」の記事によると、舛添氏が夕刊紙の記者に自身の結婚を報道するよう売り込んだ「売名行為」や「物を投げつけられた」といった暴力、愛人を妊娠させたことなどから離婚に至ったと片山氏は語っている。
片山氏と舛添氏は1986年にお見合い結婚したが、約3年後の1989年に離婚が成立している。
舛添都知事は週刊文春で報じられた政治資金の流用疑惑について5月13日の記者会見で釈明したが、
オークションで購入した美術品にも政治資金が使われたとする新たな疑惑が報道され、批判が噴出している。
舛添氏は5月20日に改めて記者会見で説明するとしている。
