昨日投開票の衆議院議員選挙の結果として、自民党・日本維新の会の与党で合計３５２議席という、非常に大きな議席をお預かりすることになりました。
選挙の管理執行に尽力して下さった自治体の皆様、総務省をはじめとする関係者の皆様、そして、厳しい寒さの中、投票所に足をお運び頂いた国民の皆様に、深く感謝申し上げます。
「日本列島を、強く豊かに。」重い、重い責任の始まりです。
国民の皆様からお寄せいただいた大きな期待を、驕ることなく謙虚に受け止めたいと思います。
今回の選挙では、高市内閣が掲げる
・「責任ある積極財政」への大転換、
・安全保障政策や政府のインテリジェンス機能の強化
などの重要な政策転換を、日本維新の会との新たな連立政権の枠組みの下で進めてよいかどうか、国民の皆様に訴えてまいりました。
今後は、自民党の政権公約に初めて盛り込まれた公約を含め、国民の皆様とのこれらの大事なお約束を、党一丸となって、私が先頭に立って、やり抜いてまいります。
本日、自民党の臨時役員会、日本維新の会との党首会談を開催し、こうした方針を確認した上で、その決意を自民党総裁としての記者会見において表明致しました。
速やかに特別国会を召集させていただき、まずは、来年度予算や予算関連法案を一日でも早く成立させてまいります。
未来は、与えられるものではありません。
私たち一人ひとりが、絶えず挑戦を続けることで創り上げていくものです。

I would like to accept the great expectations placed upon me by the people of Japan with humility and without arrogance.
During this election, I appealed to the public to consider whether it was acceptable to proceed with important policy shifts, such as the Takaichi Cabinet’s major shift toward "responsible and proactive fiscal policy" and strengthening national security policy and the government’s intelligence functions, under the framework of a new coalition government with the Japan Restoration Party.
Going forward, I will lead the way, with the entire party working together, to fulfill these important promises to the public, including those included for the first time in the LDP’s manifesto.
Today, I held an extraordinary LDP executive meeting and a party leaders’ meeting with the Japan Restoration Party, where we confirmed this policy. I announced this determination at a press conference as LDP president.
I will promptly convene a special session of the Diet, and, first of all, we will pass next year’s budget and related bills as soon as possible.
The future is not something that is given to us.
It is something that each of us builds through constant challenges.
